OHP Troopers Have a Busy Day on Snowy Roadways

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has had a busy time handling various traffic issues on state highways and roads.

Between 6am and midnight Thursday, O-H-P responded to 458 non-injury accidents and 85 injury wrecks. There were no fatality accidents during that time. During that same time, Troopers provided assistance to 254 motorists and took care of 43 abandoned vehicles.

The Stranded Motorist Recovery teams were operating from McAlester and Durant and consisted of guardsmen, using Humvees, wreckers, and Light Medium Tactical Vehicles to help stranded motorists. O-H-P advises citizens that road conditions remain hazardous and, if you don't need to be out today, to stay home and stay safe.
