Independence drivers may encounter a slight inconvenience today.
The railroad has informed the city that the intersection of West Railroad Street and 10th just south of Independence High School will be closed today for maintenance on the rail crossing. The arms at the crossing will be down and drivers are asked to avoid that intersection until the work is completed.
When the intersection of the railroad tracks on North 10th Street reopens, the City of Independence will provide an update.
