The new year brings new elected officials in Oklahoma.
Four Washington County elected officials were administered oaths of office at the county courthouse last week to begin their new four-year terms. Washington County Sheriff Scott Owen was unopposed in the 2024 election. Owen says he's ready to continue serving.
Corey Shivel won election as District 2 Commissioner following an August run-off election. He succeeds Mike Bouvier after Bouvier passed away following a battle with cancer. Shivel remembered Bouvier during the ceremony.
County Clerk Annette Smith and Court Clerk Jean Davis were also sworn in at the ceremony.
