A weekend crash on I-135 near Lindsborg claims the lives of four people, including two children.
The crash occurred just after midnight on Saturday morning when a 2012 Honda CR-Z driven by 36-year-old Jacob Aich of Hutchinson was traveling the wrong way in the northbound lanes of I-135 in the central Kansas county of McPherson. Aich was traveling the wrong way on the divided highway when he struck a 2014 RAV-4 head-on. Aich was killed in the collision along with all three occupants of the RAV-4. The victims include 31-year-old Lydia Barton of Wichita, 7-year-old Ronan Barton, and 13-year-old Jesse Kinney, both of Monument, CO. The sole survivor of the accident was 29-year-old Kirkland Byers of Hutchinson, who was a passenger in Aich’s vehicle. Byers was taken to a Salina hospital with serious injuries.
