A blast of winter weather is headed to the area this weekend, so it's important that outdoor pets are prepared for the drop in temperature.

Coffeyville Friends of Animals Becky Barnhart says straw is an excellent insulator outside.  Barnhart says to watch their water to make sure it isn't freezing.

Barnhart says the best option, if possible, is to bring outdoor pets inside when temperatures get this cold.
