The first winter storm of the season is forecast to hit the four-state area (southeast Kansas) this weekend.

 

Freezing rain and snow are forecast for much of the area beginning tomorrow morning. K-State Meteorologist Chip Redmond says you should make sure your car is ready before the storm hits.

 

Redmond says you should not only be prepared for yourself, but make sure you can remove any precipitation that might make it difficult to see while driving.

 

For the home, make sure you have non-perishable foods on hand, bottled water, flashlights, candles, cell phone and battery pack, medicines, and blankets and warm clothing.
