The Kansas Highway Patrol releases its New Year's Weekend Activity Report.

The reporting period for the holiday ran from 6:00pm on Tuesday through 11:59pm on New Year's Day. KHP personnel assisted 245 motorists over the reporting period, which is less than half of the 504 they assisted last year. This includes working one non-DUI related fatality crash.

This is the second year in a row there has been one fatality crash with one fatality down from four fatality crashes and five fatalities in 2023. The KHP had 12 DUI arrests, which is down 17 from 2024 and 10 from 2023. There were no DUI related crashes for the fourth straight year.
