Bartlesville Man Picks Up 2nd DUI Charge in a Year

A Bartlesville man is in jail on DUI charges for the second time in less than a year.

79-year-old Everett Hayes was taken into custody on Saturday evening on an alleged misdemeanor DUI charge and being in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

On Saturday evening, Bartlesville Police officers were called to the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Virginia Avenue after reports of an individual being slumped over at the wheel of their vehicle. Once officers arrived, they observed Hayes having difficulty walking an slurred speech. Hayes then failed field sobriety tests. Two pills believed to be fentanyl were also found in Hayes's possession.

Hayes also faces another DUI charge from January. He is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $25,000 bond and his next court date will be January 8th.
