Christmas has come and gone, and many households with a real Christmas tree will be looking for ways to get rid of them. Kansas State University Forester Charlie Barden says some places are using those Christmas trees underwater.

Barden says that for those unable to find a pond to toss one into, leftover trees can be used as bird feeders or turned into mulch. In Coffeyville, real Christmas trees can be taken to the tree dump. The hours are Thursday and Friday, 2:00pm to 5:00pm, and Saturday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
