A Christmas Day collision claims one life in Doniphan County.

The accident occurred on K-7 in the northeast corner of the state around 8:45 on Christmas morning. A 2012 Toyota Tundra driven by 37-year-old Maria Keys of Bendena, KS, was traveling northbound on K-7 about 8 miles north of Atchison. Keys' vehicle went left of center and struck a southbound Chevy Suburban driven by 22-year-old Kace Keller of Troy, KS. Both Keys and Keller suffered minor injuries and were taken to Mosaic Life-Care in St. Joseph, MO, for treatment. A passenger in Keller's Suburban – 22-year-old Katlyn Folsom, also of Troy – sustained fatal injuries in the head-on crash.
