Altamont City Council Considers Changes to City Revitalization Plan

The Altamont City Council hears about possible changes that could be made to the city revitalization plan.

At the most recent city council meeting, Labette County Appraiser Melody Kikkert was on hand to explain recent changes to the county revitalization plan. Kikkert says the Labette County Commission has made a few changes to the county-wide plan.

Kikkert says the county has also expanded eligibility for the program.

The county has also changed the minimum industrial investment to $50,000 while leaving the residential minimum at $5,000. The county plan will also transfer to the new owners with the sale of a home.

Council members discussed the new county plan and opted not to change the revitalization plan for the city of Altamont.
