A Tahlequah man is in custody after allegedly making threats against the Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the FBI were involved in the investigation of a social media post leading the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service to arrest Sean Nordwall. Nordwall faces charges of threatening an act of violence against Chief Hoskin Jr that was made in a Facebook post.

An attorney for the Cherokee Nation said they take all threats of violence seriously. Nordwall will face the charges in a Cherokee Nation court.
