The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will join other law enforcement agencies across the state in stepping up enforcement of DUI laws through the beginning of the new year.

The New Year’s Holiday period outranks most of the other holidays in a number of crashes in which at least one of the drivers is impaired. Starting this Saturday, law enforcement in Kansas will be taking part in the New Year's Taking Down DUI Enforcement Campaign. Officers and troopers advise those celebrating this holiday season to plan ahead. Leave your car at home and ride with a designated driver or take other transportation services. Montgomery County Sheriff Ron Wade reminds drivers that if you are going to be using ANY impairing substance– don’t even consider driving. Arrange for safe transportation before going out to make sure everyone gets home safely.
