A Galena man is sentenced to Life with Hard 50 for the first-degree murder of a Riverton man.
50-year-old Billy Barker was found guilty in June for the murder of 27-year-old Levi Porter. Following a three-day trial, Barker was found guilty of first-degree murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and criminal carrying of a firearm. The fatal shooting occurred on April 18, 2023, in Galena.
The homicide investigation was conducted by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and Galena Police Department.
