One man is dead and another seriously injured after a crash on US-169 just north of Cherryvale yesterday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 30-year-old William Gregory of Altamont was killed when he struck another vehicle head-on. Gregory was traveling southbound on US-169 when he passed several vehicles, before striking a Chevy pick-up driven by 27-year-old Cody Taylor of Parsons in the northbound lane of the highway. Taylor was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin with serious injuries.
