Montgomery County Commission Approves Purchase of 10 Sheriff's Department Vehicles

The Montgomery County Commission approves the purchase of ten new vehicles for the Sheriff's Department.

The approval for the purchase of nine Chevy Tahoes and one police transport van came at this week's Montgomery County Commission meeting. Commissioner Robert Bever questions Montgomery County Sheriff Ron Wade about how many current vehicles the department plans to sell.

The total cost for the new vehicles is $702,000.

In other business, Emily Franks, Accountant from the firm of Jared, Gilmore, and Phillips reported on the 2023 audit of the County's finances. With the exception of a few minor issues, the audit results were clean. One area of concern for commissioners was in expenditures from the general fund. Those payouts increased by around $1million from 2022 to 2023.
