Parsons Police Holds Successful Shop-With-A-Cop Event

Parsons Police help make Christmas a little brighter for local children in need.

P-P-D held their annual Shop-With-A-Cop event yesterday afternoon, helping bring some holiday joy and much-needed support to local kids and their families. The Shop with a Cop program pairs children with local law enforcement officers and emergency services personnel to shop for holiday gifts, providing not only material support but also fostering positive relationships between youth and first responders. The event is an example of how collaboration and generosity can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the community's youngest members.

The program was made possible through the generous support of Walmart, community member and business donations, funds raised at the Duke Mason Concert, and the newly established Parsons Police Department Legacy Fund. Launched this year, the Legacy Fund is dedicated to creating a lasting resource for the future of youth-focused initiatives in Parsons.

Deputy Police Chief Dennis Dodd stated that the event is about more than just shopping; it's about building positive relationships between officers and the citizens they serve.
