Wilson County may soon be looking to revise the policy that allows for individuals and organizations to reserve space in the courthouse.
Currently, the basement of the courthouse is available for private gatherings for a small rental fee per day, along with an extra fee for kitchen usage. Public gatherings and meetings are free of charge to use the space.
County Coordinator Kris Marple says the policy hasn't been changed in a long time.
The courthouse recently received a request for a wedding reception booking in January, which the commissioners will decide upon at a future meeting. Marple says he believes it's time to ask for more money.
Additional items of business at this week's meeting included a new Midwest Computer approved for $1338 for Emergency Management Director Terry Lyons, as well as a conversation with representatives on the Sunflower Skies solar project.
