An inmate at the Lansing Correction Facility is sentenced following a 2023 attack on a guard at the facility.
41-year-old Justin Pierce was sentenced Friday for battery on a law enforcement officer that occurred on January 8, 2023. The charges stemmed from an argument between the pair in which Pierce struck the guard with his fist. Pierce was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections for the attack.
