The City of Fredonia is trying to decide what to do with a property owned by the city.
The property at 515 East Madison Street in downtown Fredonia has previously been used by the city as an economic development space to help launch new businesses. City commissioners have been asked if they want to continue using the location for that purpose or turn the property into something else. Commissioner Bill Jones suggests moving the police department into the building.
Mayor Allen Miller says moving the police might save the city money on refurbishing their current location.
On the other hand, Commissioner Brandon Tindle says the site has helped launch several new businesses in Fredonia.
The commission took no action on the proposal at this week's meeting, opting instead to give their options more consideration and to examine the financial impact of both options
