The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a man who was killed in a farming accident on Wednesday.
Authorities say 70-year-old David Humbolt died when working on a piece of farm equipment on his farm northeast of Mulvane. Humbolt's son called 9-1-1 just after 2pm on Wednesday to report his father had been involved in an accident while working on a large John Deere combine.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff's office says it appears that the combine collapsed on Humbolt. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office expressed their sympathy for the family for losing a loved one so close to the holidays.
