The City of Sedan is waiting for approval from the Kansas Department of Transportation for their new way-finding signs in the city.
That was the word at this week's Sedan City Council meetings. City Clerk Lana Robinson says those signs as well as new signs on the highway look great.
The city also had a recent inspection of its water supply system by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The city was only found to have issues in two areas. First was the emergency water supply plan. The city needs to update phone numbers and contact information on the list. There is also a minor issue with the cross-connect backflow prevention that needs to be addressed. Public Works Supervisor Jim Miller says he plans to ask the state for an extension to make the required changes.
In other business, the council also approved two sewer reduction plans.
