A group of Oklahoma lawmakers is voicing their opposition to a recent agreement with the country of Denmark.
On Monday, Governor Kevin Stitt signed a Memo of Understanding with the country of Denmark to focus on increasing collaboration between the two governments in pursuit of innovative energy, technology, and defense.
However, the Oklahoma Freedom Caucus opposes the agreement, stating that the partnership uses terminology such as "clean energy," "green energy" and "carbon capture."
Caucus Chair State Senator Shane Jett – a Republican from Shawnee – stated that the Oklahoma Freedom Caucus supports free enterprise and the partnering with allies, but cautions against interfering with the free market by directing tax dollars to private companies.
