An inmate at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility has died.

 

Authorities at the correctional facility report that 33-year-old Chancellor Copenhaver was found unresponsive in his cell yesterday morning. Staff attempted life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived, but the efforts were unsuccessful. The cause of death is unknown at this time, but an autopsy will be conducted.

 

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate the death.

 

Copenhaver was serving a 10-year sentence for attempted second-degree murder in Riley County.
