The State of Missouri carries out the scheduled execution of convicted child killer Chris Collings.
Collings was convicted of the 2007 kidnapping, rape, and murder of 9-year-old Rowan Ford in Newton County. The girl's body was later found in a sinkhole known as Fox Cave near Powell, MO. In 2012, a jury found that Collings had treated the victim in a vile, inhumane manner and sentenced him to death. In August, the state set the date of execution as December 3rd for Collings.
The Missouri Department of Corrections issued a statement yesterday evening that the sentence had been carried out and that Collings was pronounced dead at 6:10 pm.
