Human remains found near Salina in 2021 are identified as those of a man missing since 2019.

Authorities say advanced DNA testing has revealed the identity of a human skull as that of Kenneth Frances Reitcheck. Reitcheck was first reported missing in November 2019. He was 69 years old at the time of his disappearance. His cause of death has not yet been determined.

Reitcheck's remains were discovered in April 2021 by a group of friends hunting for mushrooms in a wooded area just west of Salina. Along with the skull and some bones, investigators also found what was left of a tent that appeared to have been left in the woods over the winter.
