Olympic Icon To Speak in Bartlesville Next Week

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bartlesville's Annual Great Futures Luncheon next week will feature an Olympic medalist as the keynote speaker.

Executive Director of the Bartlesville Boys and Girls Club Jason Barta says the organization is excited to welcome a sports icon to Bartlesville.

Joyner-Kersee competed in the 1984, 1988, 1992, and 1996 Summer Olympics, winning two bronze, one silver and three gold medals. Often regarded as the greatest all-around female athlete in history, she is also known for her dedication to youth empowerment. She has also served as the spokesperson for a NIKE initiative aimed at bringing sports and fitness opportunities to Club kids across the country.

The Great Futures Luncheon takes place on Friday, December 13, at 11:15 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, located at 401 South Seminole Avenue in Bartlesville.
