The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating a death at a residence in Edwardsville.

The Edwardsville Police Department received a 911 call reporting hearing a gunshot. When officers arrived on scene, they located a deceased male on the back porch, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The Edwardsville Police Department requested KBI assistance at around 9:30am. Special agents responded to the scene to investigate.

The deceased man was identified as 71-year-old Roger Golubski. Currently, there are no indications of foul play. Golubski was set to appear for the first day of a federal trial for alleged civil rights violations. An autopsy is scheduled. The investigation is ongoing.
