The City of Neodesha approves an agreement to purchase power from a solar farm in Pratt County.
The vote came at the most recent meeting of the Neodesha City Commission meeting. Commissioner Duane Banzet says his main worry about the agreement was whether or not the city would have to pay if the solar farm wasn't producing.
Director of Member Services for the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency Tyson McGreer was at the meeting on behalf of the solar farm. McGreer says it's a question that has come up before.
Banzet then made a motion to approve the agreement pending verification that that stipulation was correct. The proposal passed with all three commissioners voting in favor of it.
The next Neodesha City Commission meeting will take place on December 11.
