House Explosion Leaves Six Seriously Injured in Missouri

Six people are seriously injured following a weekend house explosion in central Missouri.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, emergency crews were called to the scene of a home explosion on St. Louis Road in Jefferson City. The blast occurred around 2:45 a.m. and six individuals were inside the structure at the time of the incident.

Due to the severity of the injuries, two victims were airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia, while the other four were transported by ground ambulances. Rescue efforts were hindered by the collapse of the building, and the Fire Department's Special Operations Rescue Team was required to free the sixth victim from the debris

In addition to rescuing the six victims, emergency crews also saved two pets from the debris, who have since been turned over to animal control. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
