Thanksgiving is in the books and now it's time for all the delicious leftovers.
From turkey sandwiches, to turkey tetrazzini, to home made turkey potpies, leftover turkey recipes are one of the highlights of the Thanksgiving holiday. However, K-State Extension Wildcat District SNAP-Ed Agent Katherine Pinto says don't hold on to those leftovers too long.
The end of November also means the beginning of holiday party season. Christmas parties and New Year's Celebrations bring fun with friends and family, but they can also bring lots of food and drink. Pinto says that cutting back in some areas can help with eating healthy during this time of year.
the Center for Disease Control suggests staying active with moderate physical activity, choosing smaller portions of foods you really like at parties, and to focus on the social parts of parties instead of the food to have a healthier holiday season.
