Thanksgiving Travel

Nearly eighty million Americans and almost one million Kansans will be hitting the road today to travel for Thanksgiving

Shawn Steward with Triple-A Kansas says, if you're driving for the holiday, to expect a lot of traffic.

Steward also reminds drivers that, if you plan on consuming alcohol, to hand the keys to someone else.

Law enforcement agencies across the state of Kansas will also be out in force this holiday. They will be checking speed and also making sure all vehicle occupants are buckled up. The Kansas Highway Patrol reminds motorists to wear their seat belts and obey the speed limit to help ensure everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
