Independence Police make arrests in separate weekend incidents.

 

On Friday evening, officers were called to a disturbance in the 1000 block of West Locust. After an investigation, officers arrested 40-year-old Ashley Ellis of Fredonia. Ellis had been charged with Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Interference with Law Enforcement, Aggravated Assault, and Domestic Battery in the incident.

 

On Saturday night around 11pm, officers responded to reports of an assault in the 800 block of West Main Street. There, they took 29-year-old Kameron Michael Prouse of Independence into custody. Prouse faces multiple charges including Aggravated Assault, Use of a Deadly Weapon, and Criminal Threat.

 

On Sunday, officers responded to the intersection of Penn and Oak Streets for a report of a hit-and-run accident.
