A fire on Sunday evening destroys a northeastern Oklahoma home.
Fire crews were called to a residence near Peoria, OK, about 12 miles east of Miami early Sunday evening. When they arrived, they found a mobile home fully engulfed in flames. Occupants of the mobile home attempted to remove items from the home. Firefighters say they were fortunate to have escaped without injury.
Units from the Peoria Fire Department, Quapaw City Fire, and Quapaw Nation Fire and EMS were able to bring the blaze under control after about three hours of work. Several items near the home were destroyed as a result of the fire. No injuries were reported.
