Now's the time to start thawing those Thanksgiving turkeys. USDA's Meat and Poultry Hotline's Meredith Carothers says not to just leave it out on the counter all day to thaw.
For those with questions about preparing a Thanksgiving meal, the USDA's Meat and Poultry Hotline number is 888-MPHOTLINE or 888-674-6854. Questions can also by asked online at ask.usda.gov. The hotline will be staffed Thanksgiving day from 8:00am to 2:00pm.
