Cherokee County Home Destroyed by Fire

 

A fire late last week leaves a Cherokee County home destroyed.

 

Fire crews were called to the scene in Lowell, KS, early last Thursday evening. A thick plume of smoke was visible from several miles away and when, crews arrived on scene, they found the small home fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but the home was a total loss. Two residents were displaced by the blaze, but no injuries were reported.

 

Crews from Baxter Springs Fire, Cherokee County Ambulance, and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to the call with Galena Fire and Columbus Fire and Rescue assisting.

 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
