Kansas Congressman Ron Estes speaks out in support of efforts to limit the ability of tax-exempt organizations to finance terrorist groups.
The Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on American Hostages Act - H.R. 9495 – received unanimous, bipartisan support from the House Ways and Means Committee in September. Estes says the bill does two things: the first of those is to strip tax-exempt status from organizations that support terror groups such as Hamas.
The bill has also passed in the House, with fifteen Democrats joining all but one Republican.
Estes represents the 4th Congressional District in Kansas, a position he has held since 2017.
