The Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board awards $2.5 million in grant money to 14 counties, two cities, and two school districts yesterday to help curb the state’s opioid crisis.
Included in those entities receiving funds are Osage County and the City of Ponca City. Osage County will receive one of the two largest grants of $300,000. The money will fund treatment and recovery programs, opioid abuse education and strategies to decrease the supply of narcotics across the state. Board chairman Attorney General Gentner Drummond said the grants are designed to help communities address Oklahoma's opioid crisis.
