Getting home took a long time for a dog named Sedona.
Lost in Texas over two years ago, Sedona's family had moved to Colorado. But they never gave up looking for their beloved dog. Her family continued their search for Sedona, checking lost pet forums and humane society websites. Then, a few days ago, they checked the website of the Carthage, MO, Humane Society and there she was... up for adoption, under the name Elaine.
The family drove 12 hours to arrive in Missouri yesterday to reclaim Sedona.
The dog was a little unsure at first, but after hearing her owner's voice and a few simple commands he had taught her, she immediately knew him. Now, Sedona and her family are happily reunited after two long years. The Carthage Humane Society reminds pet owners not to give up on lost pets, because you never know where they might turn up.
