An accident involving a light pickup and a semi late Monday night leaves a Blue Mound woman dead.

 

54-year-old Melany Felt was killed when her vehicle crossed the center line on US-169, five miles south of the junction with US-54 and struck a tractor-trailer driven by 53-year-old Christopher Keathley of Parsons. Keathley attempted to avoid colliding with the smaller truck by veering onto the right shoulder, but the two vehicles collided on the shoulder.

 

Keathley complained of pain following the accident and may have sustained minor injuries.

 

The accident occurred just before 10pm last night.
