An early morning crash claims the life of a Humboldt man on Monday.
Around 4:30 yesterday morning, 57-year-old Eric Guenther was traveling near the intersection of 800th Road and Delaware Street just west of Humboldt when his vehicle went into a spin for an unknown reason. As a result, he struck a Ford Ranger driven by 53-year-old Steven Yost, also of Humboldt. The two pickup trucks struck head on. The Ranger then caught fire and burned.
Both men were taken to nearby hospitals. Guenther was pronounced dead at the hospital. Yost was admitted to be treated for serious injuries.
