Cherryvale Elementary places in the top three in a weekend chess tournament in Columbus.
Lincoln Central finished second place out of nine other schools that competed this past Saturday. There were 11 players from Cherryvale who competed in the K-8 section out of 56 total players. Three team members medaled in the top 25. Jet Tracy finished fifth, with five points, Graig Edwards 11th place with four points and Tripp Vincen 25th place with three points. In the unrated group, Tyson Ecret finished 5th.
Other team members that competed were Cheyanne Whinery, Cheroke Whinery, Adelaide Jones, Gabriel Ohlrich, Colten Tuggle, Ari Hosier and Autumn Ecret.
