The Montgomery County Commission will meet today in Independence.
On today's agenda is the canvass of the results of the November 5th general election. The canvass is the official counting of election results. Commissioners will also hear from County Administrator Jonathan Booe regarding a Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity or RAISE grant. The RAISE program comes through the U.S. Department of Transportation and provides grants for surface transportation infrastructure projects with significant local or regional impact. Booe is also expected to discuss a transfer of American Rescue Plan or ARPA funds. ARPA funds are federal dollars provided during Covid-19. There will also be an update from Brandon Beurskins with Public Works.
Today's meeting will be held at 9am in the lower level of the judicial Center in Independence. It can also be viewed online via the Montgomery County Facebook page. The meeting is open to the public.
