The Osage County Commission agrees to help fund a search and rescue dog.
At this week's meeting, commissioners discussed the issue of funding a search and rescue dog for the Green Country Fire Department. The estimated cost to the county would be around $5,000. Commissioner Charlie Cartwright says the cost is worth the benefit.
The commission agreed to use ARPA funds to assist the fire department in procuring the dog. The animal will also be able to assist the Osage County Sheriff's Office.
In other business, the commission selected Ramsey System Services to conduct the repair of the heat and air system and at the Osage County Health Department.
The Osage County Commission will hold its next meeting at 10 am next Monday at the fairgrounds.
