The Pawhuska Fire Chief reports to the City Council on the effects of a recent grass fire.
At this week's meeting, Fire Chief Lloyd Arnce gave a report following the fires that rolled through Osage County in October. Arnce said the estimated value of the loss was around $100,000 and added that two firefighters had to receive treatment at the hospital. He says things could have been a lot worse.
The fire is estimated to have burned nearly 4,000 acres of land. However, more than 30 structures were saved and only one home was lost. Arnce added that there were a few abandoned structures and some non-functioning vehicles that were lost in the fire as well.
