Independence City Commission to Address Full Agenda at Tonight's Meeting

 

 The Independence City Commission will convene tonight at 5:30 for its regularly scheduled meeting.

 

 The Commission will have a full agenda before it this evening. Agenda items include the introduction and swearing in of a new Independence Police Officer, the consideration of an agreement with Independence Community College for a reduction in fees and tuition for city employees, and a discussion of several unsafe structures in the city. The consent agenda will include approval of the closure of streets for the Eisenhower Thanksgiving Parade on November 26 and the approval of the City's Urban Boundary at the request of the the Kansas Department of Transportation.

 

The Commission will also consider adopting an ordinance to reduce the number of Commission meetings per month from two to one.

 

Tonight's meeting begins at 5:30pm in the Commission Room at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and will also be available online via the city website.
