The Director of USD 445 English for Speakers of Other Languages or E-S-O-L program tells the school board that the need for the program and the services it provides has increased.
At this week's USD 445 School Board Meeting E-S-O-L Director Lisa Stockton that the program serves nearly 300 students in the Coffeyville school district and that the need for those services has increased over the past four years. The E-S-O-L programs serves students in Pre-K through 12th grades whose primary language used at home is something other than English. Stockton told the board that the district serves the needs of students in 10 different languages and that the number of students in Coffeyville schools in need of services has grown by nearly 100 students in the past four years.
In other business, the board approved the hiring of three new custodians, four Virtual Teachers of Record for Roosevelt Middle School, and an assistant boys basketball coach at Field Kindley.
The next USD 445 board meeting will be December 9th.
