A Kansas Veterinarian recently treated a dog for an unusual ailment.

 

 Staff at the Hodes Veterinary Clinic in Rose Hill say Henry, a 3-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, came into the clinic for an unrelated exam. During the check-up, the dog's owner told the vet that the animal's breathing had been different lately. Because of his breed, staff checked the dog to make sure his heart was not enlarged.

 

But they weren't quite ready for what the x-ray revealed.

 

Though the dog was not showing any signs of digestive distress, the x-ray showed the dog had swallowed dozens of hair ties. The veterinarian took the dog into surgery and removed 75 hair ties from Henry's stomach.

 

Staff at Hodes Veterinary report that Henry is now able to breathe easily and say they hope the hungry dog will stick with treats from here on out.
