Two 14-year-old Cherryvale girls are injured in a traffic accident in Montgomery County.

 The two juveniles were stopped at the intersection of US-169 and County Road 4800 just south of Cherryvale around 4:15 yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. They were in a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan and entered the intersection and failed to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming northbound tractor-trailer. The semi-truck attempted to avoid the collision by veering into the southbound lane. The Dodge struck the semi in the trailer.

Both teenagers were taken to Labette Health for treatment for their injuries. The driver of the semi truck – 33-year-old Braden Harvey of Burlington – was uninjured.
