State Senator Virgil Peck keeps his seat in the Kansas Statehouse.
Peck defeated democratic challenger Jerry Reeves by a wide margin. Peck attended Derek Schmidt's watch party in Independence, and he says he thinks the area will be well represented with Schmidt winning the 2nd Congressional District.
Peck says his priorities include working to lower taxes as he continues to represent southeast Kansas.
